Puppy Preschool

Puppy Preschool is a great way for your new pup to socialise with other pups. You will also learn about caring for your new pup whilst they learn social skills and some simple obedience. It also helps them to associate good times with the veterinary hospital, which is helpful in future vet visits. Socialising your pup during the period from 6 - 16 weeks of age is essential for them to grow up with the ability to adapt to changes in their lives and environment.

Puppy Preschool is run over a series of 4 classes. The classes are usually run on a Tuesday night and each one lasts around an hour and a half. A new class usually begins once a month. For pups to participate they need to be between 8 and 16 weeks of age and have had their first vaccination.

The classes are run by an instructor who is attaining their qualification under the Delta Canine Good Citizens program. All training is based on positive reinforcement and only a flat lead and collar can be used. Your pup cannot participate if you wish to use a choke chain as this is a form of negative reinforcement and goes against the philosophy of the program.

Classes are restricted to a small size so that each animal can have personal attention. For this reason bookings are essential. To book your pup in for their class please phone us on (03) 5721 7177. The cost is $88, which includes the 4 classes, GST and a certificate upon their graduation.
